Rep. TJ Cox on COVID-19 Deal

At about midnight last night, Rep. TJ Cox (CA-21) and his House colleagues voted on and passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the House’s follow up legislation to combat the coronavirus, after the House passed $8.3 billion in supplemental funds last week.
“We need to send more resources, tools, and flexibility to families while we take other significant steps to stop this dangerous virus. I’m proud the White House came around to supporting a package that includes free coronavirus testing, paid emergency leave, enhanced unemployment insurance, strengthens food security initiatives, protects frontline workers, and provides needed funds for Medicaid,” said Rep. Cox.
“We can’t stop there, which is why I’m hosting a telephone town hall with medical experts on Monday to answer important questions on the pandemic and how the Central Valley keeps its families safe.”
