WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. TJ Cox, member of the House Agriculture Committee, spoke over the phone with US Department of Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue about the challenges facing farmers and ranches in the Central Valley. Rep. Cox also invited Secretary Perdue to visit the 21st District to speak with farmers and ranchers in our community and learn more our rich agricultural heritage. Rep. TJ Cox released the following statement:

“I am willing to work with anyone and everyone who will put the needs of the Central Valley’s farmers and ranchers first. I am pleased to have had a productive and open conversation with Secretary Perdue, and I am pleased that he accepted our invitation to visit the Central Valley at his earliest convenience. The challenges facing our agriculture community do not come with a partisan label – and neither should the solutions. I’m hopeful that we can continue this relationship in the years to come.”
